A Great Delivery Business Concept
I remember years ago sitting back on the couch with some friends late at night, all of us having had too much alcohol to go out and grab some food for our favorite restaurant. I can recall us musing over the idea of a business model idea that would go out and get the food that you wanted no matter where it was or what time of the night it had been. Back then the idea would have been completely unwieldy – it would have been dependent completely on a phone service. Now food delivery in tampa is as simple as pulling up an app for, say, GrubHub – a company that will do that exact idea we had wished for.
It’s amazing what smart phones allow us to do these days. With apps serving as the modern day store front for digitally based companies, we’re able to have practically anything that we want on the go and on the fly. If I want to buy something and have it delivered to my home, whether it’s food or not, I can get it done. Some cities even have fleets of delivery services, same day services from the likes of Google and Amazon, who will deliver something to your door step if it’s available for purchase in the area.
How cool is that? The delivery industry is going under a massive revolution. I really hope that the United States Postal Service manages to stay in tune with the technologies that are changing everything else. While the Taxi industry is trying their best to prevent technology from changing their industry, the USPS needs to stay a part of our lives. If they can stay on top of the technologies and take advantage of them then I think we’ll never lose out on having an integral part of American culture.
