I Like Music from Different Eras

Monday, November 19th, 2018

Music soothes me. I have a lot of trouble in my life, and I tend to isolate myself from people. Music is the one calming thing I have in my life. I do not like to read much, and TV bores me. Music though, it speaks to me. It takes me to places that nothing else does. That is why I am always on the lookout for new music. I can listen to music throughout the day and never get bored. Now and again, I’ll do a search on my computer for a new mp3 song download website, and I found a great one not that long ago. (more…)

Remember the Good Old Days?

Monday, November 19th, 2018

My daughter is eighteen years old and she does not know what she would do without the internet. She has to submit all of her papers for school online and it is really interesting to see what tasks she has to do online. I tried to tell her back in the day we would have to go online for an mp3 song download and it was not always easy to do so when we had to use our phone line for the downloading. Someone would be able to call you and knock you off of the phone line and they would actually go and have you dial up online to start all over again. It could take a really long time to get back online because if you could not find a good number, it could have been busy due to all of the people trying to get online after school and after work. I remember that we only had America Online for our web searches.

It’s really weird to me that they do not allow you to use AIM anymore. It was weird that something I used so much as a kid on the internet was gone and taken away. I do not know if I will ever forget the saying that you got when you did have an email waiting for you in your inbox. I met my first husband on Love at AOL in the year 1999 and I really think it’s funny that they do not have that anymore. Most people who are dating online today were not old enough to remember the first online dating site. I think it’s very cool that they ended up having that back in the day, we were able to talk to people from all over the world for the first time.

We Have Fun with the App We Made

Monday, November 19th, 2018

I was talking with some friends several months back, and we thought it would be fun to find an app that we could all do together. We wanted a scavenger hunt app that we could customize, but we were not able to find one that we liked. The only good one was not able to be customized, and that is why we ended up going to an app developer in Singapore to see if this company could design the app that we all wanted to use.

We had plenty of great ideas for it, but the main thing is that it could be customized to a specific town or region as well as being able to customize the things that needed to be found. We took it one step further and came up with a bunch of different themes. (more…)

A Fantastic Journey in Singapore

Friday, November 16th, 2018

I went with my family on a great trip to Singapore. It wasn’t really for any kind of special occasion or anything, we really just wanted to visit a country, so we picked one off the globe and came up with Singapore. We hired one of the transport services in Singapore to take us around to various locations, because we had no idea what there was to see in the country. If we had chosen one of the other countries, we probably would have had a better idea before of what to see, but it wouldn’t have been as fun.

Since I am a person who likes to try out a lot of food from different places when I go to them, I was ready to try everything when I went to Singapore. I didn’t care if the food was spicy or mild, sour or sweet, I was ready to give it a try. I knew of some famous chefs who have come from Singapore to spread their cooking around the world, so I knew that there would be a lot of good food to eat. My son was ready to meet all of the local girls his age, while my daughter wanted to see all of the famous art.

We absorbed a lot of culture while we were traveling there. The driver of the bus that we rented helped us find the best places. Since he lived there, he knew the entire country like the back of his hand, and knew the best way to get to these places while taking the shortest possible routes to get there. I hope we can all go back there some time in the near future, but we have to clear out our schedule. I have a lot of work, and the kids have to go back to school.

Why Traditional Chinese Medicine Works

Friday, November 16th, 2018

Do you know what TCM is? I had a vague idea of it when I first made an appointment for a TCM clinic in Singapore. I had done a cursory search online just to make sure that I would be okay with going there in the first place. While I was waiting to be seen, I was able to talk to an older man in the waiting room, and he could not say enough good things about Traditional Chinese Medicine when he found out it was my first time there.

I had been looking at it strictly from a medical point of view, but that brief chat made me realize that it is so much more than that. It is about the life force that surrounds every single one of us. (more…)
