Remember the Good Old Days?

My daughter is eighteen years old and she does not know what she would do without the internet. She has to submit all of her papers for school online and it is really interesting to see what tasks she has to do online. I tried to tell her back in the day we would have to go online for an mp3 song download and it was not always easy to do so when we had to use our phone line for the downloading. Someone would be able to call you and knock you off of the phone line and they would actually go and have you dial up online to start all over again. It could take a really long time to get back online because if you could not find a good number, it could have been busy due to all of the people trying to get online after school and after work. I remember that we only had America Online for our web searches.

It’s really weird to me that they do not allow you to use AIM anymore. It was weird that something I used so much as a kid on the internet was gone and taken away. I do not know if I will ever forget the saying that you got when you did have an email waiting for you in your inbox. I met my first husband on Love at AOL in the year 1999 and I really think it’s funny that they do not have that anymore. Most people who are dating online today were not old enough to remember the first online dating site. I think it’s very cool that they ended up having that back in the day, we were able to talk to people from all over the world for the first time.
