The Pros and Cons of Vinyl Flooring

I am the type of person to think things through probably a lot more thorough than I should. For other people, they can make a decision rather fast. For me, it can take me weeks to decide on something because I have to research everything for it before finally deciding one way or another. That is what happened when I had to replace the floor in my kitchen. There was a water leak that had warped the floor, so I had no option but to get a new one. I looked at because I had heard some good things about vinyl flooring.

I was not convinced right off the bat, because there are some downsides to it. After researching the negative parts first, I decided that they were not applicable to my own kitchen. Dirt does show up on vinyl much more than it does on other floors, but I am a bit of a neat freak so that was not an issue. I clean messes up as soon as they happen, and I clean my floors regularly through the week too. Also, no harsh chemicals can be used, but that was actually a pro point for me as I like natural cleaners more than the harsh chemical ones.

After determining that the negative things did not apply to me, I looked at the positive ones. I was very happy to see that it is waterproof and durable, and also that it is soft. I like to go barefoot in the house, and I did not want a super hard floor. The padding underneath the vinyl makes it nice and soft, which helps also if something hard is dropped on it. I finally decided to go with the vinyl floor, and I have not regretted my decision even once.
