Trading to Pay Medical Bills

An unfortunate fall this year left me with a dislocated shoulder. I had to have surgery to get it fixed, which set me back a bit financially. Although I had health insurance, it only covered so much and I was left paying the rest of the surgery costs out of pocket. Faced with the high hospital bill, I looked at alternative sources of income. I downloaded a bitcoin trader app and bought and sold enough bitcoin until I had enough funds to pay off the hospital bill. I only needed one hand to use the app, which meant that I could use it while recovering from the surgery.

Even though my medical bills were paid off, I continued to trade bitcoin on the app. It was an easy source of income, and I it got to a point that I was making nearly as much as I was a my regular job. I used the extra money to make some much needed changes to my home. The house was in desperate need of a repaint, the carpeting needed to be replaced, the roof needed to be redone, the gutters needed to be replaced with gutter guards, and new insulation needed to be added.

I fell because I slipped on some wet bark in my backyard. This bark had fallen off of a tree that had died out. The tree occasionally drops bark pieces and limbs when there is a heavy enough storm. Since I had the money from bitcoin, I hired a company to cut the tree down and haul it away. It was too much of a hazard to be kept, and it had no use as a dead tree besides providing a home to bugs. Now it can be cut up and turned into wood chips that will decompose.
