I Am Getting Started in Real Estate
I got to thinking about this because a friend of mine has an uncle who is in the real estate business and it is a really good way to earn a living if you have some money to start off. Of course he did the shortcut and married the daughter of a guy who had money and was already working in real estate investment. I have been thinking about what you can do if you are really not so lucky, like how to go about starting a property management business. That is sort of a simple thing if you are not really thinking it through, but there is a reason why a person who owns property would hire you to do the job. It is a simple thing in theory, you manage the property. You find people who want to rent a place, then you take care of that. Obviously you have to maintain the properties.
I have already gained a little experience, since a neighbor of mine has some rental places. He is a rather old person and when I was younger he would frighten me a great deal while he was driving. He has this little pick up truck that he would drive all over the place, meaning that he was going from shoulder to shoulder at times. At any rate his wife would not let him drive and after I got my license they paid me to do it for him. He would go around and of course he would keep up the yards of the places, then once I knew what needed to be done I would do the same thing. Of course at some point he got to be too old and so he started to sell off all of the places that he owned.
